"Treasure Hunt" Herald Dispatch

The Herald Dispatch had a "treasure hunt" contest. My mother cut out the eight different businesses that I visited to get stamped. I received a phone call from the Herald Dispatch on Wednesday the 22nd to inform me that I had won the 1st place prize. I received eight $100 gift certificates from each business that stamped the paper. Since my Mom was the one who knew about the contest & cut it out then I gave her first pick. We laid all eight gift cards on the table and took turns picking. She picked (Glenn's Sporting Goods, Wright's Men's clothing, City Kids & Adelle's Antiques). I picked (Reuschlein's Jewelers, Magic Makers Costumes, Merle Norman cosmetics & Crumpets & Tea/Custom Framing). I couldn't believe we had won. I've never won anything before. Merry Christmas to us!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Our neighbors have a Siberian Husky fenced in a small enclosure. Roxy loves running in circles with Taz.

She will stick her snout in the fence and they lick each other. I say it's her boyfriend. He's never been out that I know of.

It's sad When I arrive home from work Taz gets so excited. He's hoping Roxy gets to run around with him for any amount of time.

He's a beautiful dog and he's always well behaved.

Aaron has a job. YaY!

We are so happy this job came through. He started TR Johnson on Friday. We were struggling to get by each month. Now if we can just catch up on everything maybe we can try to break even. By the way... His step-dad Helder works there 2.

Weekend Fun

The weather is finally nice and we've escaped from hiding.
The cold weather is so depressing and I'm ready for it to end.

Friday after work, Aaron, Roxy and I played on the railroad tracks and in Marvin Adkins 50 acre field. Aaron and I then went to Lavalette to hang out at Richie and Mary's. He turned thirty on the sixth. We all had a great time around the fire. Aaron played the guitar and we all tried singing. Jim was mine, Aaron and Amber's DD. Gotta love that...

Saturday we drove to Beech Fork (Lavalette) and walked up a nature trail that overlooked the marina. Roxy loves the woods. We've had her off the leash for a week or so and it's so stress free for us all. I love it! After that we drove to Dain's so she could play with Coty, Trent’s Lab Retriever. Coty's seven and I know he gets tired of Roxy after awhile. She is still a puppy and wants to play, but he doesn't. We all came home and passed out for two hours.

Sunday we all sleep in till ten-thirty. I'm cooking breakfast and my Mom and Faron stops in. We visit Mamaw and Papaw Osburn and then. We head to High School Holler. We walked up the left side of the pond and down the right. It took us just short of an hour. We circled the high school twice and then saw Velvet's vehicle. We walked two miles around the football field with her and Drew.

I am pooped. I have had a great weekend with Aaron and Roxy, and all the others that have crossed our paths this weekend. The weather was warm and it turned out to be fabulous days to spend outdoors.

I also fitted in all my laundry cause it's done too.

The 27 month wait is over...

My Dad went to court yesterday for his divorce and visitation rights. His lawyer didn’t realize that the case was so complicated so he had to postpone the divorce part of it. Although, something good did come out of court yesterday. My dad did receive visitation rights and they start this weekend. He will get Jesse every other weekend. The 1st and 3rd weekend of every month.

I am so excited and it doesn’t seem real just yet.

I am also preparing myself in seeing him on Friday. I know it’s not going to be some happy fairytale reunion. I’m not even sure what or if he will remember a lot about us. He may even be upset and not want to go with dad at first. We will need to take baby steps and work on our relationship all over again. At least it is a step in the right direction.

I am unsure about what his mother and her family has told him about us. I hope they haven’t said anything bad but we can pretty much bet its been nothing good. My dad and I have talked about not talking about his mother or the whole situation in front of him. She is his mother and no matter what type of awful things she has done that is still his mother and it will never change.

I cannot wait to start our relationship again. I know its going to be hard on my dad and he will not be able to drive in every other weekend even though I know he would love to. Even if he gets to see him once a month or every other month at least it’s more than what we’ve been used to.

My Job

I am really happy and excited to tell you about where I work. I am very lucky to say that I love my job. Not many people can say that and really mean it. We do have our ups and downs at work but overall it's a wonderful place to make money. I work at an Architectural Firm in the Channel District of Downtown Tampa, Florida.
