Water for Elephants by: Sara Gruen

PLOT: A veterinary student abandons his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet.

OPINION: Loved, loved, loved this book. I was hooked from the prologue. I felt so bad for the elephant Rosie. I wanted to kick August’s ass so many times. I was so happy when Jakob finally had enough and stood up for Marlena & Rosie. I also loved Walter a.k.a. Kinko. He was one of my favorites. I cannot wait to see the movie.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon 3D

PLOT: The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and to learn its secrets.

OPINION: How could you go wrong with giant machines fighting? We both enjoyed it and we love 3D. I did however think the movie was a little long. Two and a half hours were a bit much. They needed to wrap it up. I also liked the new love interest. She was a nice addition to the movie. I also loved his parents. They didn’t play a big role but they always make me laugh.

The Social Network

PLOT: A chronicle of the founding of Facebook, the social-networking Web site.

OPINION: I fell asleep about half way through this movie. What I did watch of it was good. I had Aaron tell me what happened in the end.

Mockingjay by: Suzanne Collins

PLOT: Mockingjay is the third installment of The Hunger Games trilogy by American author Suzanne Collins. After her rescue by the rebels, Katniss willingly agrees to become "the Mockingjay", a symbol of the rebellion against the Capitol.

OPINION: I loved the way this book ended. I was so worried at first with Peeta losing control & not knowing what was real & what wasn’t. I loved reading about the Capital. I was drawn into every page and every word. I didn’t want it to end.

Catching Fire by: Suzanne Collins

PLOT: Catching Fire is the second book in The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. As the sequel to the 2008 bestseller The Hunger Games, it continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the fictional, futuristic nation of Panem. Due to the events of the previous novel, a rebellion against the ruling Capitol has begun, and Katniss and fellow tribute Peeta are forced to return to the arena in a special edition of the The Hunger Games.

OPINION: I loved this series! It is one of my favorites. I was shocked that Katniss & Peeta had to go back into the games. It made me so mad. I loved reading about the other victors from the other districts. I was so sad about the stylist. He was one of my favorites.
